3 shows with lyrics in need of music as follows: 1- The show titled "THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE THIS BUSINESS" is about betrayal by a best friend that takes place within a business environment. Despite the seriousness of the topic, there is a good deal of humor. I had a collaborator who I met at The ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop. Michael wrote the music to approximately 1/2 of the shows 20+ songs when cancer took his life. 2- A show based on the classical short story "THE MAN WITHOUT A COUNTRY" by Edward Everett Hale. His great uncle was Captain Nathan Hale, who is best remembered as the man who said, just before he was hanged; "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country." The book and lyrics are in place. 3-A self-help lyrical show with book and lyrics in need of music...My work isFinishedAlvin H. Goldberg

I'm seeking a composer to provide musical compositions to go along with a contemporary setting for drag bar performances in a play I've written. I'm trying to round out three pieces ranging from a bawdy ballad to full on Brazilian rhythms dance music. I need the most help and input on the ballad and the music for a Drag King. Fun, irreverence, and excitement are the key to what I'm looking for. Thank you in advance. My work isIn ProcessBillie Murray

I had a screenplay optioned at Amazon Studios. It spent two years in development at Amazon as a non-musical feature. Since regaining rights, I have rewritten “LEON (The Backward Noel)” as a musical comedy for the stage. The script and lyrics are complete. I am seeking a composer/collaborator for three originals. I have an idea of what the original melodies might sound like based on the lyrics, but I defer to the experts. I have music for the ten other songs, though they need minor adjustments. Funding is available to record some songs, so I could advance the pitching process. Funding is also available to workshop the show in the Peoria, IL area, where I currently reside. LEON (The Backward Noel) tells the Christmas Eve story of a slacker angel, a seductive devil, and an unscrupulous...My work isFinishedKevin Scannell

I am an agender/nonbinary multi-hyphenate developing a one act musical about a trans man, his sister, and both of their relationships to his former "female" child self. I was mounting a workshop production of this piece last year when COVID hit and halted it, and since then have realized that in order to finish the show, I am in need of a composer skilled at accompaniments and orchestration who can also offer an outside eye on the story of the piece. I have a music composition background but am really a topline-oriented lyricist; I have complete drafts of the words and melodies that are longing for interesting harmonic choices and a cohesive musical identity. I'm especially interested in working with either trans folks of identities other than my own or cis queer women who could offer more...My work isIn ProcessSocks Whitmore

My father, Buddy Feyne, co-wrote the songs for a musical about Brooklyn during WWII. Looking for a librettist who is interested in that era, or who would want to create a more contemporary piece bridging memories of then with contemporary society. Excited to share more info. I have written a musical parody of the Trump Presidency from his announcement of running for office to his being voted out of office and the storming of the Capitol. It is a musical comedy that features parodies of well-known Broadway showtunes. For example, Tomorrow is a Latter Day becomes Tomorrow is Election Day; It's Almost Like Being in Love becomes It's Almost Like Being President (sung by Al Gore and Hillary Clinton). I am looking for a composer to write song parodies for each of the songs referencing about 20 seconds of each song but composing enough original music to make them original songs. There are about 2 dozen songs in the musical. It is almost finished but I am still working on lyrics to a handful of the songs. My work isIn ProcessPublius

I'm looking for one or more people who's like to "scene swap" with me. I'm working on writing/revising full length and one act plays (ten-minute and ten-page), and I'd love to exchange scenes or short plays with folks who can provide feedback. In exchange, I'd happily read and comment on their work.My work isIn ProcessArnold Anthony Schmidt

MARFA is the Chorus Line of cancer. Through a group protagonist, it presents a slice of life story much in the vein of The Band's Visit. The book and lyrics are finished and I can provide a rough melody for most of the songs. The song style is contemporary musical theater, probably best described as an easy rock style. I wholeheartedly believe that if we get this right, an all-star cast could be rounded up, due to the subject matter. Meanwhile, I am ISO a composer interested in collaborating to create enough recorded songs to shop the musical around. My work isFinishedJulia Stewart

The project is a period book musical freely adapted from a popular novel in the public domain. This swashbuckling story contains strong characterizations in a timely serio-comic plot and is designed as a showcase for multi-talented performers. Romance, villainy, stage combat and clowning round out this accessible, mainstream entertainment. Candidates must be skilled in revealing character/extending narrative action through song and possess a love of language, knowledge of history, passion for musical theatre and ability to collaborate. I am an accomplished librettist and versatile composer who can write in a variety of styles with an individual voice, and my work has been successfully produced in major regional theatres across the U.S. I look forward to hearing from you....My work isIn ProcessTed Kociolek
